Frequently Asked questions

Below are examples of questions that we get asked, please do feel free to ask us if there is a special wish or anything that you are unclear about.

You can have any music you wish.

We feel very strongly that our families should have a special funeral – as unique as their loved one was. If a funeral director is not able to offer the service you require we would suggest that you contact another funeral director who may be more able to accommodate your requests. Although it can be a difficult time, remember that you can contact several funeral directors to ask questions to ensure that your requirements are met.

We can advise you as to who has conducted funerals at Dale Hill and therefore aware of the ethos of natural burial. We are not able to make recommendations as everyones requirements and situations are unique personal.

The answer is no, there is no legal requirement to use a funeral director, however your loved one will need to be cared for between the time of death until the funeral and legal forms must be obtained before burial can be made. There are practical considerations regarding handling and looking after a deceased person. Most families benefit from the involvement of a funeral director but if you are confident and capable there is no reason why you should not arrange a family led funeral.
